Cat, How do I decide if a short cut is right for me?

3/3/2014

A short style can be the perfect look for you and it can be super easy to maintain in between visits as well.
My model is sporting an edgy Mohawk that was achieved with my professional technique, especially designed to keep a lot of movement in the hair. This is a low maintenance hair style, requiring minimal up-keep in between salon visits, but there are some "at-home" tips you need to know.    Contact me today for more information on how maintain this “polished” look !

Is a short style right for you?

Each client has natural beauty; your unique facial structure and your personality speak volumes and we’ll discuss the most flattering cut for you.

If your primary concern, (after looking  good of course!) is how to keep your new, short style sharp and sexy, just schedule a complimentary consultation and see what I have in store for you.

When we meet, I can determine the growth rate of your hair and how often you may need a trim your style to keep that precise and pristine look.

Another urban myth that I hear a lot is that "women of a certain age should always consider getting a shorter cut"…that is not totally true and when we meet I’ll tell you the full story on why it’s an individual choice, not an AGE choice!   It’s true that a dynamic short style can be just as alluring and eye-catching as longer hair styles and I’m looking forward to sharing some great tips with you!

Q: I want to stop coloring my hair and grow gray naturally, but I am afraid that my hair will look yellow, dull, and "old."  How do I make the transition gracefully and keep my gray hair lively and shiny?

A:
Many famous women of style and beauty  are "growing gray" gracefully and loving it! There are a ton of tips on this topic and, of course, the first thing I'd recommend for you is to contact me for a complementary consultation.

I'll give you the individual, professional advice you need to ensure the transition is a great experience, with hair that stays sparkling and vibrant.

We'll discuss everything from inside out, including the nutrients and vitamins that can make your hair healthier, the cuts and styles that flatter you most, and the products and trends that I recommend to enhance and maintain the shine and health  of your gray or graying hair.

I'll give you advice for times when you’re "in-between" salon visits to maintain your hair. I’ll inform you of how to check labels for products that are properly formulated for gray or white hair. Not all products do what they claim! Some can even be damaging to graying hair....so check with me to get my expert advice.

Are you or someone you love looking for answers about caring for gray hair? Are you concerned about thinning hair or dryness?   Schedule a private and personal consultation with me to discuss any concerns you may have.   Regardless of whether you are graying naturally or if you are trying to decide on coloring your gray, I'll provide you with the information you need to gray gracefully..  You’ll see that keeping your hair healthy is easy. So relax and enjoy my professional care!

Getting Relief from Winter Itch

2/3/2014

Winter weather can cause a dry scalp, itchy skin and damaged hair.
Picture
In winter, our skin can lack moisture due to the temperature change and windy elements.  There are ways to get around the dry spell that your skin can experience.  Here I have some cool, quick and easy ways to avoid this problem, just read on.....

Personalized, professional treatments are a great way to ensure building moisture in the hair and scalp, and relying on an expert is really the best way to keep your hair in proper condition with moisture and balance.

Each woman’s needs are different.  Professional treatments, provided on a weekly and bi -weekly basis, can make a positive difference in your moisture balance, thus preventing Winter itch.

During our consultation session, we can discuss the benefits and frequency of treatments for your hair and scalp. I’ll share with you information on great products for moisturizing the scalp such as:

  • Stimulating Scalp Oil (contains tea tree oil, menthol, and is great for itchiness).
  • Organic Complex, (enriched with olive oil,  vitamin E, jojoba oil to increase circulation and promote hair growth).
  • Natural Growth Crème ( contains tea tree oil and avocado vitamins that are natural aids in helping to seal and smooth the hair cuticle and prolong your hair style).
  • Moisture Lock (enriched with cocoa butter, Shea butter, and olive oil that's great for reducing breakage and for circulation to the scalp).
These products are by Influance Hair care® and are also great for children and men.
You can find these quality products on my Website and you can get them when you visit me at the salon.

Here are some "in-between Salon Visit" tips .....to help your hair stay healthy in cold weather:

  • At night, after you have completed your hair care regimen,  tie your hair up in a silk or satin scarf, or use a satin pillow case.  Cotton wraps and pillow cases can absorb precious moisture and oils, and that can lead to dryness.
  • When you are using a Winter scarf for warmth, that is not silk or satin, remember to first drape a silk or satin scarf over your hair (before putting on a cotton or wool hat) to avoid the friction that can cause the breakage of your hair  especially at the nape.(The nape is the back of the neck).  Also, applying a silk “skully” or a silk scarf first, will help to avoid friction from you hair and this will help protect your edges!!

Don’t suffer from winter itch a day longer! Schedule a consultation with me today …use the form at the bottom of this page and I’ll be back in touch with you right away!
