In the winter we can experience similar effects but for different reasons here are some pointers on avoiding the cold weather dryness.
In winter you'll we have to nourish your skin with hydration moisture and sun protection. Cold air and sharp winds can that will whisk away your skin's natural moisture.
When cleansing your skin reach for a cream based cleanser which offers moisture as well as cleansing properties. Cream based cleanser v.s your gel based cleanser that's great for oil control ... a cream based cleanser will lock in natural moisture that is necessary for keeping your skin supple and fresh. |
Another step to locking in moisture is to use a hydrating toner. this helps retain more moisture while closing the pores and is great for refining the skins texture, giving the skin a smoother appearance . Now, you've locked in the skins moisture with your cleansing and toning steps. What's next?
Followup with a rich moisturizer as well as a facial oil. Facial oils are light weight and pair well with moisturizers; it's an added step in moisture retention on the skin.
Your rich moisturizer should contain an SPH (Sun Protection Factor) of a least 30 because adding a sunscreen to your skin care regimen is important all year round. Although we're usually not out sunbathing in the winter like we are in the summer months .. our skin is still affected by the sun in winter.
Sunscreen protection will help keep your complexion clear and can combat dark marks or uneven skin.
Finally, consider incorporating a hydrating mask twice a week. This will further enhance your skin with the necessary properties to keep a healthy, glowing ,fresh and youthful appearance.
